What if data science could be used to protect us from national health threats? This is the question the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will explore through their upcoming Biothreat Early Warning Challenge.
The Challenge will call for state of the art tools to track and analyze non-traditional data in realĀtime to provide early warning on emerging health threats. The DHS Science and Technology Directorate will look to innovators from across the country to share their best thinking on what types of data and analytical models could be used to support such a system. The data competition will specifically seek out novel approaches, methods, algorithms, and a technology framework for accessing, integrating, analyzing, and visualizing relevant “nonĀtraditional” existing data sources. The results will be used to develop an operational prototype that can be tested and iterated upon by the Department of Homeland Security.
Luminary Labs is proud to power this data competition through our contract with the NASA Tournament Lab (NTL), which connects innovators across Federal Government with our services.
We look forward to sharing more as the Challenge progresses.
