Three new Luminaries bring a range of expertise to groundbreaking health and education initiatives.
People who work at Luminary Labs are curious about the world and are passionate about tackling important problems across industries. That curiosity and desire to make an impact is reflected in the makeup of our team. We are fortunate to work with talented and thoughtful consultants, and new additions to our team bring unique perspectives and experiences to our four focus areas: the future of health, the future of work and education, scientific discovery, and infrastructure.
This week, we’re thrilled to announce several new members of our team. We’re inspired by their backgrounds and the work they’ve done, but we’re even more inspired by their contributions to our team and their passion for solving problems that matter — from next-generation diagnostics and suicide prevention to career and technical education and closing the STEM achievement gap.
If you are also inspired by our people and our work — and enjoy connecting dots between different spaces — please check out several new opportunities to be part of our growing team.
New hires
Ben Alsdurf joined Luminary Labs as Director, Future of Health, a new role focused on driving results for public and private healthcare organizations adapting to technology-driven change. Ben’s previous work includes healthcare consulting, as well as roles at Amgen’s Berlin Technology and Innovation Hub, a corporate innovation center focused on emerging digital health technologies, and the TB Alliance, a biotech with a public-private operating model working on antibiotic drug development. He is currently leading Luminary Labs’ future of health portfolio, which includes designing and producing a $15 million grand challenge to reduce Veteran suicides and prototyping digital health solutions on behalf of a global pharmaceutical.
Anjali Mehta joined Luminary Labs as an Open Innovation Engagement Manager. Anjali is an operational strategist who distills complex systems down to actionable forms, bringing bold ideas into reality. She helps ensure impact lasts beyond client partners and prize winners by using context and care as organizing principles. The past decade of Anjali’s work has circumnavigated the intersection of human-centered design, data analytics, and community well-being. She now brings her expertise to Mission Daybreak, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ grand challenge to reduce Veteran suicides.
Natalia Allen joined Luminary Labs as a Senior Associate. With a background in education and school administration, Natalia can prioritize and solve problems quickly in fast-paced environments. She understands the importance of multiple perspectives, and collaborates closely with clients to create actionable solutions and real impact for a wide range of stakeholders. Natalia is currently leading key workstreams for the U.S. Department of Education’s IES Learning Acceleration Challenges, two concurrent challenges that will create, deploy, and assess interventions to close the STEM achievement gap.
